Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm expected in the Western Province

January 19, Colombo (LNW): Showers will occur at times in Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere of the island after 2.00 p.m.

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
