Fuel crisis over – Lokuge pledges end to fuel shortage by next Wednesday

The fuel shortage will be completely solved by next Wednesday, pledged new Energy Minister Gamini Lokuge. The Minister assured that diesel and petrol stocks are already being transported to all fuel stations.

Suggesting that the power crisis will also end with the end of the fuel crisis, Lokuge pointed out that the power cuts which are in occurrence daily at the moment will be over in a matter of days.

Accordingly, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) will be able to maintain an uninterrupted supply of power without further outages, he added.

Energy Minister Lokuge further expressed confidence that stocks of diesel and petrol will reach Sri Lanka from March 15 under the debt facility by India.
