Highlands extend top support to all-island strike action!

Date:

The Central Highlands have extended their top support to the all-island strike action launched by more than 1000 trade unions against the President and the Government.

Accordingly, all shops in main cities including Nuwara Eliya, Hatton, Thalawakale, Kotagala, Norwood and Maskeliya have been closed as per the decision by trade associations in support to the strike.

Private buses operating daily in Nuwara Eliya and Hatton have also been cancelled, while SLTB buses running are reported to have been carrying a minimum number of passengers.
