Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath will lead Sri Lanka’s delegation to the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), scheduled to take place from September 27 to 30, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Minister Herath is scheduled to deliver Sri Lanka’s National Statement during the General Debate of the High-Level Week on September 28.
His address will be delivered under this year’s UNGA theme, “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All.”
During the General Assembly, the Foreign Minister is also expected to hold bilateral and other meetings with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, senior UN officials and foreign ministers from several countries.
