Pakistan has dispatched 80 tons of humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka through the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with SriLankan Airlines, as part of its continued support following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.
According to an official statement, the aid shipment is being transported on four separate SriLankan Airlines flights operating between Lahore and Colombo. The first consignment is scheduled to arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, this evening (04).
The Pakistan High Commission in Colombo is working closely with Sri Lankan relief and rescue authorities to ensure smooth coordination and the timely distribution of assistance to affected communities.
Since the onset of the disaster, the High Commission has been actively involved in managing humanitarian support extended by the Government of Pakistan through the NDMA, Pakistan Navy, and Pakistan Air Force, along with direct ration-distribution initiatives for those in need.
Additionally, Pakistan’s well-known humanitarian organisation, the Al Khidmat Foundation, has partnered in ongoing relief efforts to support Sri Lankans during this critical period.
