Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne has been found dead at his residence in Athurugiriya.
According to initial reports, he is suspected to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities have commenced investigations into the incident, while an official confirmation on the cause of death is awaited.
C.D. Wickramaratne, who served in the Sri Lanka Police for more than three decades, was the country’s 35th Inspector General of Police.
