The Ministry of Transport says that a final decision will be taken today (04) on whether bus fares should be reduced compared to the reduction in diesel prices.
For that, a discussion will be held under the chairmanship of the minister in charge of the subject, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena.
The Director General of the National Transport Commission, Dr. Nilan Miranda, said that a report was handed over to the ministry regarding the percentages of bus fares that should be reduced compared to the reduction in diesel prices.
So far, the price of diesel has been reduced by 25 rupees on two occasions and there has been no reduction in bus fares.
