  1. President Ranil Wickremasinghe prorogues Parliament: the 3rd session of the 9th Parliament ends: 4th session to commence on 8th February: President to make a policy statement based on the decisions taken after the 75th Independence Anniversary, on that day.
  2. President Ranil Wickremesinghe informs All Party Leaders Conference on Reconciliation that the Cabinet was agreeable to fully implement the 13th Amendment until the Party Leaders decide whether or not to abolish the Amendment.
  3. US State Department says US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland will be in Sri Lanka next week to mark the 75th anniversary of US-Sri Lanka relations and to offer continued support to Sri Lanka.
