SriLankan Airlines Suspends Dammam Flights Until Oct 18 Amid Regional Security Concerns

By: Isuru Parakrama

October 12, Colombo (LNW): SriLankan Airlines has temporarily halted services between Dammam in Saudi Arabia and Colombo until October 18, 2026, citing security concerns arising from the current situation in the region.

The national carrier said the suspension had been introduced as a precautionary measure, emphasising that the wellbeing of passengers and crew members remained its foremost consideration.

The airline is monitoring developments and will review the situation before deciding when normal operations can safely resume.

Services on the route are expected to restart only when conditions have been assessed and deemed appropriate for commercial aviation.

Passengers scheduled to travel during the suspension period are advised to check their flight arrangements and seek confirmation from the airline before proceeding with their journeys.

Travellers requiring assistance can contact SriLankan Airlines on 1979 within Sri Lanka or +94 11 777 1979 from overseas. Support is also available through WhatsApp at +94 74 444 1979, which accepts chat messages only, as well as through travel agents and the carrier’s official website, SriLankan Airlines.

The airline has not indicated a longer-term change to the route, with the resumption of flights dependent on the security assessment and the suitability of conditions for safe operations.
