SLPP Badulla District MP Dilan Perera has tested positive for Covid-19. His status has been confirmed upon an antigen test carried out due to sustaining the symptoms.
His status makes the MP the 50th member of Parliament to contract the virus.
Several MPs tested positive for the virus since since the last month Parliamentary sitting. This month’s sitting commenced today and the contagion is likely to spread across the chambers in the next few days.
