Chandimal Jayasinghe, National Director of Mrs. Sri Lanka, announced today (08) that Silva has been stripped off her her title as the Mrs. Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, the 2021 title will be bestowed upon the First Runner Up of the 2021 National Pageant, the statement said.

He added : “Therefore, following the mandate conferred upon me, Chandimal Jayasinghe as the National Director of Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World, I hereby would denounce the title of Mrs. Pushpika De Silva who was crowned on the 4th of April 2021 as the “2021 title holder of Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World” on (serious disciplinary grounds and misconduct / whatever there is on that section says) and would hereby declare that in the event the title being used or exploited here onwards by Mrs. Pushpika De Silva as “Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World” and / or “2021 Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World” in any capacity and in any given occasion locally or internationally would be in violation of the Rules and Regulations of the Mrs. World Pageant and would incur legal liability and / or any other fine / compensation related thereto.”
