July 07, Colombo (LNW): The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has commenced the online filing process for tax returns relating to the 2025/2026 Year of Assessment, with its electronic services platform now available for taxpayers across the country.
The Department said the system enables the submission of Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Partnership Income Tax (PIT) and Individual Income Tax (IIT) returns, including the simplified filing option introduced for eligible individual taxpayers.
Taxpayers have been advised to submit their returns through the IRD’s online platform on or before November 30, 2026, which has been set as the official deadline for the current assessment year. The Department encouraged taxpayers to avoid waiting until the final days to complete the process in order to minimise delays and technical issues that may arise during peak filing periods.
The IRD also noted that further guidance, updates and information relating to the filing process are available on its official website: www.ird.gov.lk.
